Hi. I just bought Nikon AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Lens for my Nikon D3100
When I got it I realized that it doesn't auto focus heh. My first camera, so…
I now understand that I should've bought AF-S lens which is twice the price. I could send it back, but I'm going on a trip so I don't have a time.
I also read that there are some people who use ONLY manual lenses on their DSLR's because they think it's even better, but why exactly?
So could you, please, guide me through this. Tell me everything that a person should know about manual focusing and what makes it easier. Parallel to this I'm also reading articles about manual focusing, but rare and subjective tips would be in a gold's value. Give me everything you got.
Added (1). UPD: Also I can't seem to change Aperture. It tells me to lock on 22(highest number).Is it possible to change that?

I have nikon d3100.interested in street/urban, interior, architecture photography. Which lenses are better for this kind of photography… Can i buy for example one lens that covers all this kinds of photography or at least some of them.Yes i'm still learning sorry if my question sounds a bit.

Should i sell my nikon 55-200 dx lens?
Hi… I'm thinking to sell my nikon nikkor 55-200 dx lens to save some money to buy new lens. I have nikon d3100. The new lens i'm interested on buying is a prime lens or wide angle lens. Is there a lens that can be also prime and wide angle? No right… Am not sure if i should keep my 55-200 lens? Which are good reasons to keep it? What am trying to say is it an important lens that someone has to have in his/her gear? What's your thoughts? Thank you

The thing is i'm not really using my 55-200 lens that much. Which lens are ideal fro this kind of photography as mentioned above.
I really need to buy a new camera for my sister's wedding this Saturday, I just don't know what to buy and if it's a good deal. I had a canon sd1200 which i originally purchased for $269 at Costco and now it's going used for less than $50, so I really want a camera that won't depreciate so much in price.i'm I being unrealistic?
I want to buy a Nikon d3100. There's one going on ebay for $350, refurbished, comes with a lense and camera charger. Is this a good deal? And also there's the Canon rebels. But i'm not sure how I feel about those, too much variety makes me nervous.

May broken safety glass damage lcd screen on camera?
Safety glass on my nikon d3100 is broken, camera works as usual, but need I to change the safety glass immediately or it is OK to change it in couple of months?

How to know if an old lense is compatible with my DSLR?
I found an old lens at a thrift store today. It had a small paper with details on the lens. It's a Nikura 1:3.9 70-210mm Auto Macro Zoom Lens. I have a Nikon D5100 and I wanted to use it with it, but I wasn't sure if it would work or if it would damage my camera in any way. The lens was purchased by the original owner in 1986, so it's pretty old.
