How to get that blurry background and shark subject effect?

I have a Nikon D7000 SLR. I have its original lens: 18-105mm and I want to capture that effect where the background is blurry and the subject is focused and sharp! How do I do that? Please tell me everything I need to do from iso and etc., I want all photos to be this way, so how do I change that? Should I also invest in a 50mm lens? I heard that was the best buy. I'd also like to take photos where natural colors are shown but most of the time when it's a very sunny day and the clouds are blue. The sky still come out as white and no blue or anything and the subject's skin tone changes to pale -.- please help!

Camera setting when attached to a telescope?

When I attach a Nikon d40 to a Celestron NexStar 4SE using the t-ring for a Nikon (93402) and the t-adapter (93635-A), it seems to fit properly. But when I press the button for a picture, it says no lens is attached. Is there some special camera setting to use?

70-200 f/ 2.8 Tamron or Sigma?

I need a lens replacement for my Nikon D7000. I'm planning to get a Nikon 85mm f/1.8 for portraits, and in my previous posts i have mentioned I have a 70-300 f4-5.6. Now, I need a replacement for the tele.

My dream DX setup would be a
Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 (on the way)
Nikon 50mm f/1.4G (got it)
Nikon 85mm f/1.8G (on the way)
Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 (still deciding which brand)

Now, weighing my options that I might be out of budget, which of the two third party lenses comes close to great performance such as the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR2? They both fall on my desired budget, but which one? Please state maybe your pros and cons and a little thought on why you lean towards your lens of choice. You have one of these 3rd party telephoto lenses? I wanna hear your experience with it. Cheers!

Added (1). Sorry, i forgot to mention, i'm referring to the latest models of both brands. The Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD and the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM

Nikon 24-70mm not taking sharp photos?

I bought my Nikon 24-70mm brand new but photos came out not sharp and most of the are out-focused. When I switched back to my Nikon 60mm prime, photos come out crystal sharp. I heard 24-70mm only accept faster shutter speed 1/250 or above, is that true? And what other settings I need to be aware of?

Anyone is loving your 24-70mm and manage to take sharp photos? Would you like to share?

I'm very depressed because I spent so much money and don't want to return it since it's hassle.

Your sincere and professional advices are deeply appreciated!

Btw my camera is Nikon D90.

New camera pictures not downloading to computer?

I got a Nikon D3100 with a AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens and a gift and really don't know a lot about it. I took some pictures and when I went to download the images to my computer it said the file format was not supported when I tried to open the pictures. I only have Windows Live Photo Gallery for the camera images and was wondering if i need to update this program somehow or is there a different (preferably free) program that can support the pictures from this camera. Any help is appreciated, I don't have any experience with fancy cameras like this!

Which Camera to Give as Gift?

I'm looking to buy a digital camera for my boyfriend, but am trying to decide which one I should go for. I personally love my camera, but I can't buy him the same thing because I can't afford it right now (it was a Sony DSLR around $700).

Here are some options I have come up with. I'll have to decide today whether or not I should go for the Sony one. I've also been really happy with Nikon in the past, but I've only really used their really high-end cameras.

Option 1: http://www.amazon.com/...00BF9MUBM/

Option 2: http://www.bestbuy.com/...8731589757

Option 3: http://www.bestbuy.com/...8377778652

Considering price and capabilities, what do suggest? Or is there a different one that you would suggest (preferably under $300)?

Cheapest DSLR for vlogging and casual photos?

So i'm planning to grab a nikon d3100 as its about £200 (UK) second hand but good condition and has 1080p (albeit at 24fps) so that seems to fit my needs pretty well as a starter youtuber and someone who enjoys editing photos:3

BUT is there anything better for me in that price range? Nothing over 200 as have spent Way to much money recently and am still in 6th form: L

i know the rebel t1i is pretty good perhaps a little better but also 250 min.

so what i ideally need is what ther d3100 offers bt cheaper or something the same price but better

thanks in advance.

p.s bridge cameras are a 100% no as had one and it was awful and i want it to be a DSLR not just a video camera
