Nikon D5100 with Kit Lens any good?

So I'm thinking about buying the Nikon D5100 with the AF-S VR 18-55mm kit lens. I'm wondering how good does this lens auto focus compared to a standard Point And Shoot camera.

Will the YN568EX flash work on my Nikon D70s?

I'm looking at the Yongnuo YN565EX for nikon and the YN568EX model. The latter model supports shutter speeds of up to 1/8000. Will the d70s work with the 568 high speed sync?

How to get my photos to look like this?

How to get my photos to look like this

I know this is probably the opposite of what most people want, but I want my pictures to be a bit darker and have this kind of noise/graininess. I have a Nikon D3100 (DSLR), I don't know if that matters. Do I need a different lens? How can I achieve this look? I don't really want to edit my pictures to make them look like this, so please don't suggest any edits.

Is 18-55mm lens better or 55-200mm lens better to get with a DSLR?

I'm planning to get a DSLR. I don't know to use it.
I'm going for Nikon D3200 as per all Internet research. But it comes with diff lens kits.
18-55mm, 55-105mm, 18-200mm and 55-200mm i think.
My usage will be outing with family and some landscapes on the go. & also price also matters.
(I want good high clarity pics with good looking background and better detailed foreground)
Can anybody say if 18-55mm is ok for this or should i get anything else.

What is better: a video camera or DSLR?

I'm looking at buying either the Nikon D3200, canon t3i, or a video camera. I would mainly use to take videos. Although still shots would be nice too.

I've read lots of opinions on this question. Most people have said that a DSLR is the new way to film videos. Apparently they give a more professional look and give you more options. I'm wondering if there are any specific advantages a DSLR has over a video camera or vice versa.

Any other HD video cameras or DSLRs to consider besides the two mentioned above. Also, if I got a DSLR or a video camera, would a plug in audio mic be a good idea?

How to price beginner photography?

I'm a 21 year old beginner photography but i've been taking photos since I was younger just not professionally. I've had my nikon for about 3 months now and I have been making some money doing portraits for people with basic internet knowledge which is great because i catch on fairly well. The independent photography life is fine but I really need help with pricing my services. Thats something i'm not too good at. I feel like my talent is worth more then what I charge but I don't want to over do it. I do events, family portraits, cherished items and more. What do you guys thing of my work? And any advice on pricing would be truly appreciated, some examples of your own pricing is as well and tips thank you

Is the Nikon D90 outdated?

My friend is selling her Nikon D90 for $380 with the 18-105mm lens. She has taken well care of it and is only selling it to me for $380 because I'm her good friend. Should I buy it or is the Nikon d90 too outdated? I currently have a Canon T2i and the Nikon would be a step up from beginner level.
