Which digicam shall I buy?
I was using a Nikon L14 which I had bought in December 2007.It was a 7.1 Megapixel cam with 3x zoom.Bt recently its battery lid broke n I can use it any more. So I'm thinking of buying a new one.
My requirements are as follows:
Since I'm not a pro photographer. Any cam with 8+ Megapixels will do.
NO specific requirement for zoom.
If possible I would like to have a Panaroma Assist or Sweep Panaroma feature.
My budget is very low: Rs. 5000 - 7000
Any brand can do.
Your budget is excellent. You can get amazing Digicams for that price range. But I would recommend not to spend on Megapixel, rather spend on higher Optical zoom and better lens.

If you want Auto-Panorama function, then check out Fujifilm cameras. They have option for auto panorama. The camera will take 3 consecutive pictures, and join them into one single wide panorama picture. Also Fujifilm cameras have HD 720p video recording facility for 15mins. Other cameras in this range don't have HD recording.

All these cameras have 2 years warranty. One recommendation, don't go for Sony. Sony sucks in digicam department. The picture quality is no where as good a Canon or Nikon. The colours don't look natural at all. Thats why I avoided Sony. But in Camcorder dept. Sony rocks.
I would recommend to buy a Nikon D90, this is a semi-pro, nice camera, good battery, a lots of great features, it shoots nice photos and good quality videos.
