Microphone for a DSLR?

I just recently bought a Nikon 3200 and I'm wondering what a good microphone would be because there are no XLR inputs. I would like a shotgun for the camera and a Lavaliere for when I do interviews.

DSLR Lens for close up videography?

I just bought a Nikon d5200 and it is my first DSLR camera. I bought it primarily for video and have the 18-55mm and 55-300mm. I'm really interested in artisitc videography so I need a lense that is capable of autofocusing to a moving subject at close range, any suggestions? I was looking at the 35mm for shots that aren't tracking a subject, but would it work well for what I'm describing? When I shoot video on auto with my 18-55mm and it is within the 8 feet range it is all junk, I kind of want something to pick up from there. Any suggestions or other ideas?

A good, high quality camera?

I'm going to be starting my photography class in about two weeks. I have a useful camera, but the only way I can get good pictures is if I edit it myself, from the brightness to the colors of the photo that don't show up as good as I would like it too. Can someone give me recommendations to a high quality camera? I was going to go with Nikon but I wasn't too sure on the brand.
Price doesn't matter, as long as it's not around $1000.

Should i go with f/1.8 or f/2.8 for Star Photography?

Is there a significant difference, enough between a f/1.8 lens and a f/2.8 lens for star photography?
Will the f/1.8 lens let more light in to the point where its very noticeable, and per say WORTH getting over the f/2.8. Or are they pretty much the same that you will not see any differences.

Nikon 40mm f/2.8 MICRO (i love the macro feature)
Nikon 35mm f/1.8

This lens is specifically for taking night/star photography. So if the f/1.8 is significantly better, please let me know. I'm short on cash, and i'm unable to have both lenses to compare them side by side with different photos.

Long Island - where should I stay?

I'm going to a concert on a Sunday night at Jones Bach Island on Sept.8th. I'm thinking of making a weekend out of it and staying a couple of nights so that I can spend a day in NYC too. Where is a good place to stay, so that it's close to NYC (want to take a train) and a short drive to the Nikon at Jones Beach (we'll be driving a car from Boston, so will drive to the concert)? Just looking for a convenient decent place for a reasonable price. Or is it easier to stay in Wantagh/Freeport and take the train to the Penn station?

Suggestions for a DSLR camera?

I'm planning on taking a trip to The Bahamas in a couple months and I want to purchase a nice DSLR camera that I could capture my experiences on. I'd like a camera that takes high quality pictures and also high quality video but I'm not exactly sure where to start looking or what to start looking at. I'm partial to Nikon but only because I'm somewhat familiar with their quality. I'd be looking for a camera no more than $350. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
