Microphone for a DSLR?

I just recently bought a Nikon 3200 and I'm wondering what a good microphone would be because there are no XLR inputs. I would like a shotgun for the camera and a Lavaliere for when I do interviews.

If there's no XLR inputs do you have an audio input at all? Better check that first… If you do then…
I'm hearing some good noise about the Rohde brand of shotgun mics.

Sony makes excellent lav mics - not cheap but excellent. In the case of Sony though you may have to have the XLR switched out with the mini plug your camera takes.
