Snapsort has the compact full frame Sony RX 1 beating both the Nikon D7100 and D610!

i was surprised given that it is a fixed lens model and has no viewfinder

i know it is full frame and very small but still

what do you think?

could you use a camera like that on a shoot?

Nikon n8008 not taking pictures?

I just got my Nikon n8008. The film is loaded correctly. And I have tried two different lenses but when I try to take a picture, the LCD screen displays "ERR" and displayed at the bottom of where you look into is displayed "p 30 f4" or "p lo" what does this mean? I don't even know if it's taking my pictures.

Desperately seeking a replacement camera, which? - 1

I have been to the stores, asked the professionals and still ahve not found that one machine I seek…
Can someone please help?

I'm looking to replace an old camera.
I want a digital "bridge" type version
It must have good decent bright lens which is capable of taking shots at a distance and not crating too noise
Excellent ISO ( 100-2600 for example )
EFV ( i travel a lot and like to get close to the subject thru the visor…)
Flip screen ( typical on Canon and Nikon camaras
Not too heavy in weight as I travel for work and pleasure
Between 12 & 20 mega pixels should be enough
My preferred brands ( i currently own a canon Powershot 1 I S which has given me 8 years of excellent pics but uses AAA batteries & has only 6 mpx! )
Canon, Nikon or Lumix with a Leica lens.
I did take a serious look at the powershot g series but the lenses however bright are only X5 in distance, way too short nowadays.
A tall order perhaps?
Many thanks for any answers, greatly appreciated and will be studied.
Oh, price? 500€ / 600$ / £500

Custom White Balance?

I'm wondering for a few days and searching for an answer. I'm using Nikon D5200 and wanted to PRE AWB (Custom White Balance)

Now my question is - What setting do I use to take the white/18% gray picture?

I mean by "settings" is what distance from the white object, what initial AWB the dial should be set to? Also what Aperture and Shutter Speed should be set to? Should the flash fire?

Hope I described my question clearly.

Bad quality pics on instagram?

So whenever I take photos on my Nikon the pictures are really full of detail and you can see the HAIR on someone's arm but when I post the pictures onto instagram they become really bad quality? I post them onto tumblr from my computer and then save them when I go to tumblr on my IPad.

However everyone else's pictures are full of detail and they don't seem to have the problems I do?

How to get my Nikon DSLR to focus in low-light settings?

So, I can NEVER take pictures when it comes to restaurants, bars, outside carnivals, etc.

Tomorrow I have a lunch thing and we wanted some good pictures and I really want my camera to focus. Currently it will just produce blurred pictures in low-light settings.

I'm in manual mode, have set my ISO to 1600, set it to white balance and shutter speed to 1/2 a second. The pictures come out bright in the low-light setting I made for myself but still won't focus on the object.

Any tips?

How to power a Nikon D5200 through an external power cord, rather than batteries?

I do long term, event shooting on my camera crane, problem is I always find my Nikon dying. I've tried battery grips, but yet I still find my Nikon to die on me. Is there some kind of converter, or hardware I can buy to power the camera through an external cord? I was thinking perhaps there's like a battery grip with a power connector, or something of that nature, yet I have still not found one.

Your thoughts?
