Buttons faster than touch screen?
I recently upgraded from a touch screen Sony nex to a Nikon D7100 with buttons and i actually can adjust settings FASTER with the buttons than i could with the touch screen
anyone else experience this?
i also think it is the layout of the camera which overall is superb
Buttons are faster, like calendars are faster than electronic datebooks
To a certain extend I believe. I have been doing photography for more than 2 decades and feature specific buttons will be faster to use but takes time to familiar with. The major reason of inventing LCD menus is for cost cutting and the ever increasing features. But in the end, it's the design of the interface, whether buttons or menus, that makes or breaks the useability. I just couldn't quite connect to the Canon user interfaces even after years of experience, while Pentax & Nikon are quite user friendly.
Most of the settings are adjusted with the use of one of the scroll wheels, so it is going to be faster.
If you are talking about when you are making changes on the fly, the biggest difference is going to be using the optical viewfinder when using the buttons versus the screen when using the touch screen, and the optical viewfinder is always faster.
- Will Nikon go touch screen?
- Do you think touch screen cameras like the Nikon D5600 make cameras like the Nikon D5 look like 70's computers without the mouse?
- Why is the 40D's FPS faster than 60D?
- Does a Nikkor 55-300mm AF-s focus faster on a d7000 than a d3100?
- Why can Canon shoot faster than Nikon? (exposure, not drive speed)?
