Which is better for HD videos [Canon EOS Rebel T3] or [Nikon D3100]?

I'm looking for a camera to shoot music videos with and I came across these two for $500 and was wondering which would be better to go with…

They will be nearly identical.

The T3 has only one video option:

1280 x 720 (29.97, 25 fps)

The Nikon D3100 has some choices.

1920 x 1080 (24 fps), 1280 x 720 (30, 25, 24 fps), 640 x 424 (24 fps)

Since they are primarily still cameras with a video feature, you may find it interesting to know how their sensors perform
