Nikon SLR Cameras

What SLR is better for shooting videos- a Canon Rebel T3i / Rebel T3 or a Nikon D7000?

My budget is $1200
I have been doing some research. I will be using this camera mostly for taking shots for music videos. In my previous question, many respondents recommended the D7000. However, upon further research I found many people complaining about the autofocus feature in it. I really can't have that while shooting videos. It would be extremely annoying.
Many recommended the Canon 7D but its too costly for me.
Just what cameras have good video quality and also good picture taking quality? It doesn't have to be as good as the D7000 but if its close enough, it will be fine.

Added (1). @KB- So if I turn the AF off in the D7000, would the video quality be on par with the Cannon 7D or the 60D? Or am I completely off the tangent here?

In this case the D7000 is much superior. The Af issue is based on a feature only the nikon has which is continuous AF and being the first camera to have this feature is kinda a beta thing. The D7000 still has the same superior manual or single AF the canons have, it is just the new feature. Also it is very superior for still photography to either rebel and is in a different class. Why not go for the 60D instead… The best of both worlds with most of the features of the 7D and the price and still features of the D7000

If you rule out, or don't intend on using the autofocus, your options are wide open.

All the DSLRs that shoot video from any of the major makers shoot the exact same video, an H.264 compressed at 20 gb/hour (maximum data rate-highest quality). This is almost double the data rate of consumer HD camcorders.

The $800 t1i has this quality. The $2500 5D Mark2 has this. Same with other brands. Get the cheapest you can and save for a better lens.

They said nikon takes better pictures but canon takes better videos, I'd say get the canon 550d or 7D

Video quality from all slr is the same.
even if you buy nikon d3100/t3 and compare it with quality produced by 5d mark 2.
i do not know if you know that you can't shoot more than 20 minutes of video with any dslr.
that being said, d7000 is best compromise.

go for t3 or d3100 and use 50mm 1.8f prime lens, you will get best quality of videos.

all dslr camera offers same functionality and equivalent image quality, quality of image will only differ on paper not when you see it.
