How to take pictures in low light without getting motion blur?

I'm using a Nikon D3100. I like taking pictures when I'm at parties and what not and I never use flash. I realize that I have to set the exposure value to like 1/4 or 1/16 even to take pictures in low light. But I notice that when the exposure is this low and people are moving I get motion blur. How do I take pictures in low light conditions?

Which teleconverter lens can I use with my d5000 that's not expensive?

I'm experimenting with rigging my d5000 for extreme macros. I purchased macro bellows, reversing rings, and I'm hoping to get a teleconverter lens. My problem is that I'm not sure what teleconverter would at least meter or AF with the lens I use. I'm either going to reverse my Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 D DL macro super lens or my Sigma DC 18-50mm 1:2.8-4.5 HSM OS lens.
I don't want to waste my money on useless stuff, so I'm asking if anyone know what are my teleconverter options with my d5000 that won't cost an arm and a leg.

I was thinking of getting a nikon tc-201 2x. I tried looking on nikon for compatibility but my poor brain can't understand my own setup.

How to light meter with a Nikon D3000?

I know I'm supposed to know that as I study photography but I just don't cause when we learnt that in the uni I had a really simple camera that can't even change its aperture, let alone meter, so I had no practise in that. Now that I got myself a proper camera I'm ashamed to ask my classmates for help, anyway not that I does matter to you.

So, can anyone help me?
Say I want to shoot the sea, 2 hours after sunrise without the sun in it.

Again what do I do to buy a good DSLR and avoid the Problematic ones?

Put aside the different types of DSLR and SLR, that's a whole other matter.
Every camera I check and read about it must have a problem Nikon d90, d5000 or even the d7000, canon 500D. The list goes on. There are always 5 star reviews but the one star reviews that I read points to bad cord problem, shutter problems, "ERR" message, camera shuts down for no reason and never works again. These are not individual accidents, as I read, many consumers face these malfunctions. All this aside, there's also the problem of customer services where they never help you, you have to send the damaged camera on your expense although your warranty is not expired yet T.T

After the research I did I'm afraid that I might be one of the unlucky ones and I'm very scared to get a new camera and invest in it through lenses and other stuff just to discover a week later that it doesn't work anymore.

What can I do? Isn't there a DSLR Nikon that doesn't have any problem and only got 100 positive reviews?

Did i goof up on this gift?

I feel like such an idiot for not researching this before purchasing. My husband is a photographer who just started his own photography business. He's been hinting that he wanted a Nikon DSLR for christmas (just the body). So i bought a Nikon D3000, thinking it was a real steal. Now that i look at it i think this might be a really nice beginner camera. He already has a Canon Rebel and it looks very similar to him. Is this a good gift or should i get my money back

Added (1). He's does a little bit of everything, nature shots, engagements, weddings and children. I obviously made a big mistake.i'll just give it to him today because i won't be able to get anything else ordered for him in time. He wasn't actually expecting anything because he couldn't get me anything this year.

Nikon D5000 Temperature?

I'm currently in whistler and it can get as cold as -10 degrees on the mountain. However, i know that there can be some very nice scenery(HDR as well) up on the mountain. I'm wondering if my Nikon D5000 will be able to survive the cold and wind, i don't want to break it.

Why does my old camera take a better, closer picture compared to my new camera?

I just purchased a Nikon D3100.It came with the regular 18mm-55 mm lens and the 55mm-200mm lens. There's a lunar ecplise tonight, so I decided to go outside and take some pics with my new camera! Well, I decided to take my other camera, which is a Kodak Z981 that has the 26x optical zoom. Can someone tell me how come the Z981 takes a better pic of the moon that my D3100? With the D3100 on the view finder, the moon looks AMAZING. Great close up and what not, well then when you take the picture, it looks like a little dot on the screen. You figure, what you see in the view finder is how it would take the pic. Well not with this camera. On the other hand however, what you see in the view finder is what you get. When i take a picture of the moon, its close up and looks good, and it doesn't look like a little dot after taking the picture. So can someone please help me and help me understand this better!
