Nikon D3200 Problem?

I have been trying to take a picture of the stars however, when I click the button, it will focus but will not take the picture. I'm in manual mode but I do not have a remote, so instead I use the 10-second timer. Plus, when I try to take the picture it will flash "Subject is too dark" and the exposure indicator will flash. Does anyone know how I can take a picture of the stars?

Should I exchange my Sony a3000 for a Nikon D3200?

I've got a Sony a3000. I know it's not a real DSLR, just has the DSLR body.

I have a chance to exchange it for a Nikon D3200, and I would have to pay $100.00 towards the Nikon.

I'm ONLY looking at these 2 cameras, please do not suggest other cameras, please.

Sony NEX-3NL or Nikon D3100?

Hi! So I'm planning on buying a camera and am torn between these two. I would be using the camera for portraits, travelling, landscapes, nature and such. I would appreciate any helpful comments from people who know more about this area than me, so please help.

Nikon D5100 Sleep Mode?

I have a Nikon D5100 and I've tried setting it up for silly little photobooths at parties with a remote and it's been a hit, but after a while of inactivity the camera goes into sleep mode and the remote is then shut off so then I have to go reset it up for the remote.

Is there anyway to keep it connected to the remote or even a way to turn off the sleep mode? I have another party tomorrow and was hoping to get this settled so I don't have to worry about it.

If a 15-55mm Nikon lens is to big to take to an NHL game?

I'm going to a sens-leafs game this weekend and want to bring my Nikon D3100 so I can actually get some good pictures. I've heard there's a specific length that a camera lens has to be for it to be allowed into the arena. So, does anyone know the regulations that the Canadian Tire Centre, in Ottawa, has on camera lenses or any other rules I should know of before going to the game.

Is the video capability on the Canon 60D good?

I'm thinking of buying a Canon 60D for filming. I currently use a Nikon D3100 and wanting to upgrade. I don't mind jumping ship to Canon because my main point is the quality of the video. My biggest question is about the full time Af in video mode. Does it have full time Af? And is the Af fast and accurate and not like Nikon DSLRs where they are slow and constantly trying to grab on something.

My pictures turn out black?

I have a Nikon D5100 and I'm just learning how to use it. The lens cap is NOT on. I was trying to figure out how to adjust the ISO, aperture, and whatnot; but now the pictures all come out black when I'm in the manual mode. It takes pictures just fine in the other modes, but I can't adjust all these things in other modes. Is there something that I need to adjust in the manual mode to make the pictures turn out normally?
