Does height matter in photography?
I've decided to do wedding photography course.Later on i will be either doing landscape or fashion photography. I know its probably a stupid question but its worrying me a lot."will height affect my skill ". I'm just 5ft 4. Also as beginner am thinking of buying Nikon d5100.
I'm 5'4" and have been in the business for 37 years, so I'd have to say "no".
I don't think height is important. You could use a tripod for some shots
It should not make any difference. In fact it may be an advantage. Watch some professional fashion and wedding photographers; they will either stoop a little, or set the camera on a tripod below their eye level. The reason? Subjects look taller and slimmer taken from a slightly lower angle than average eye level.
It certainly hasn't hurt Annie Liebovitz.
No. Its more the angle
Height will give you an advantage since you can shoot from higher angle w/o ladder. It's not something that is a big deal though because you will work around it easily. It is the skill and vision that matter.
I'm 6'3" and I find that taking photos while stood bolt upright does not give such a pleasing perspective as using the camera at a lower level. I'd suggest that it's probably an advantage!
