How to know where spot metering is going to meter in different autofocus modes?
I have a Nikon D3100. If you select spot metering, where will it meter if dynamic-area AF, or 3-D tracking, or Single-point AF is selected? I know that with Auto-area AF mode, and spot metering, it always meters in the centre, but what about the other focus modes?
Canon XS, Nikon D3000, NIkon D60?
I bought a Canon XS but I don't know if I should keep my Canon XS and get a nikon. Should I keep my canon xs or should I trade for maybe a Nikon D3000, or Nikon D60?

I have just bought a Nikon D7000, I have just come from a HS10 Finepix point and shoot ( you maybe thinking that I'm not very bright) and I should have gone for an entry level Camera instead, but the way I looked at it if I bought the entry Level and, I liked it then 6mths down the line I would have had to buy the D7000 anyway, so it would have cost me a lot more money, but to my Question I need a 70-200 f2.8 lens for shooting ice skating, it is in a really low lite Ice Rink, and I have been looking at a Nikon but it is more money than the Camera I bought is there a different Lens out there which is as good if not better than the Nikon, that won't brake me for the rest of the year and if any one can give me a few pointers on any other lenses that I might need for every day pictures that would also help Thanks

I saved 100 pics to a pdf file and now I need to pick out 10 to save as.tif -HOW?
The pictures are no longer on my camera (Nikon d40x) because tech-challenged me probably deleted them somehow. These 100 pictures are saved on a pdf contact sheet, but now I need a way to select ten of those pictures and save them as.tif s.

Cheap but effective Nikon lenses?
I have a Nikon D60, and I have only ever used the lens that came with it, mainly because of lack of money to buy another one. Recently I have noticed that my photographs are all kind of "same-old stuff".
I'm looking for a lens that can put a bit of life back into my camera and my photography, but also one that won't skin me too much cash.
Can anyone recommend any lenses?
I have an older nikon D70s, which i love, and i'm just looking for a bit of a kick with fisheye lenses, i want a (high distortion) 0.25x lens adaptor on my AF NIKKOR 1:1.8D with a 52 mm thread, but the lens no longer focuses properly, wil this affect my images? Because i have been told it won't, i just need a second opinion.

Why won't my Nikon D40 take pictures?
I have a Nikon D40 which is less than a year old. It will take pictures on the "no flash" mode, the portrait mode and the sport shot mode, but not any others. When I use "auto" mode, the flash pops up, it will focus but the shutter will not click. I have charged the battery and changed the SD card, restored the factory settings, i just can't figure it out. I love this camera, I just want it to work again!
