Good Portrait Lens for Nikon?

I need a good portrait lens for a Nikon D3000. Something someone would use for a senior photo shoot or along those lines? I mean rather affordable, under $700 preferably. I already have a Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens and the basic 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. Any suggestions?

Nikon d3100 compared to nikon d90?

I want to know the major differences between the two slr's. I'm not a professional photographer by any means but I love great quality pictures. I'm trying to figure out which is best for me and delivers good performance.

Added (1). I know that the d3100 can only use certain AF lenses. Will any new lens that comes out be supported by the d3100?

How legitimate and secure is One Stop Digital?

I want to buy the Nikon D3100 from the website, as it is the best deal I have seen for it. The only problem is that with a deal like that, these sites sometimes turn out to be too good to be true. I've been on a few forums but people that say it is/is not secure don't seem that reliable. Although the website looks and seems secure, I want a garuntee that they aren't going to mess me around. How to see what I record on my Nikon live on my MacBook?

I was wondering if there's a way i can use my Nikon D3100 instead of the camera in my MacBook to work with iMovie? Or is there any other program i could use to record and see "live" on my laptop what i'm recording?

Nikon D5000 battery grip?

Is there a battery grip for the nikon d5000 that will increase the frames per second? I can't afford an MB-D10 so please don't recommend it.

Need Advice For Purchasing Nikon Lens?

I'm an advanced amateur, and have a Nikon D7000 with the kit lens 18-105mm VR.

I recently purchased the Nikon 35mm 1.8G for portraits/night shots but I want to purchase new Nikon lens that can replace my kit lens and a telephoto lens. I have looked at the 16-85mm VR and the 17-55 2.8 but the 17-55 is extremely expensive and has no VR. Also, I saw the 28-300mm VR but it is an FX lens, I will lose a lot on the low end since it will become more like 40+mm on my DX camera and it is a $950 lens.

Should I purchase the 28-300 VR / 55-300 VR to replace my kit lens… Or should I purchase the 16-85mm VR and get the 55-300 VR as well? At the same time, I don't want to be carrying 3+ lens when I travel.

I had the 18-200mm VR before and it is out of the question. I have heard the 16-85mm is sharper.

Any suggestions?

Can I use NIKKOR AF-S 18-55mm VR lens on Nikon FM10?

I have a Nikon D5000 and the kit lens (which is a NIKKOR AF-s 18-55mm VR), and I'm hoping to buy a Nikon FM10 soon.
I'm thinking about also buying the NIKKOR AF 50mm 1.8D lens. It would be cool to use my D5000's lens on the film camera…
