Why aren't I photogenic

I recently bought a Nikon D3100 for photography and filming. I used to have a normal standard digital camera, a camcorder, a iPhone and on each camera it made me look long, big eyes, long chin, wonky slanted face and withdrawn skin.
When I tried to film off of the cameras, I sounded deep, and as if I was mumbling - and it made my face wonky, wider, longer and just not me.
I tried doing a first vlog today for YouTube and it just does the same, long face, huge eyes, and ridiculous voice.
Is it the lighting, is it the camera, is it me?
Filming and photography is what I wanna do, and I want to be on both sides of the camera - as I'm very insecure, I pay attention to my looks a lot.

What's the issue? It's really annoying!

Added (1). And my photo here is what I DO look like, as the camera was pointing towards the mirror… And for some reason mirror shots make me look me.

How to upload HD videos to youtube without losing quality?

I've tried many things but none work! Ok so first i tried using windows live movie maker and selecting 1080p upload to youtube but that doesn't work then i tried using cyberlink power director ten but that didn't work, next i tried using sony vegas pro and rendering in the highest setting but that still uploads poorly and gives me this:
i know there's a button where viewers can select to watch in 1080p, but alot of other youtubers have their videos play so crisp and cleer automatically and don't require you to change anything. I'm using a Nikon D5000 for recording and its very nice and cleer when i put the file on my cp but after i render and select the upload button on youtube n upload the file it gets all bluury and distorted. Is there a program i can use or something i'm doing wrong?!

Do the cheap slave flashes work just as well as the more exensive ones?

I'm young and chronically ill, so I can't get a job. I spend all my money on my 5 fish tanks… I have huge fish, they're not cheap to feed.
I've gotten into photography recently and want to get pictures of my fish, but the pictures I get don't turn out too well. I need a slave flash to put on top of the tank to get better lighting during a picture - it's what a lot of good fish photographers do.
However I don't have the money to go buy one of those extremely expensive ones. I have a Nikon D50, can anyone point me towards the cheapest slave flash that would work for what I need? Is there anything else I would need to go with it to make it work?

Hehe, thanks for the help guys. I'm new at this photography thing.

35mm or 50mm nikkor lens?

I have a Nikon D60 DX SLR (horribly old I know) and was thinking about getting either the 35mm 1.8G (DX) lens or the 50mm 1.8G (FX lens) but not sure which one? I'm definitely thinking about upgrading my camera to the D600 FX SLR soon but that would be in a couple months once I get enough money. I'm not sure if I understand the crop mode between DX and FX lenses just yet which makes the decision a bit harder. I like the range that the 35mm has on the 50mm but does that mean a 50mm on an FX camera will be equivalent to using the 35mm on a DX camera?

Any macro/micro lenses for the Nikon DX that has lower mm than the 40mm?

Specifically that will fit for the DX format (D5100). Just wondering if there's a lens (hopefully prime) that is lower then 40mm and has macro capabilities.

And YES I know that "40mm is already too little for macro" but that for me is too much because I need to do PRODUCT photos (not insects and stuff). And the 35mm prime won't focus close enough for me.

Added (1). Fhotoace you don't understand. I need to record a video of a table with items on it, and at 40mm I will be touching the wall. I will be always recording for 10 minutes in each video and getting close to a product and far away to record the long table. Even 35mm is better.
