In almost five years I have improved with my photography and the use of my cameras. The first camera I used was a Kodak point-and-shoot camera, and then I had an Olympus e-420. Most of the pictures you'd find in the gallery was taken with that camera. Recently I bought a Nikon D3100 and there are some pictures from that camera presented there, such as "Angels", "Witnesses of Time", and "Eyes of Wisdom".
While I try to understand lighting and composition more every day, I enjoy my photography and the occasional results that gets me smiling when I take a picture. I'd like to be able to start taking hundreds of pictures of models one day, maybe even celebrities. I know at this stage I still have a long way to go.
Ending this on a note; what is your most favorite picture of my work? Please tell me why if you don't mind.

Added (1). To the person who posted about children modeling on railroads, I'd suggest you do more research next time. It is not against the law as long as you have permission from the local railroad company or if the railroad has long been abandoned. Other companies like Modelteenz have done this type of photography with their own models.

Which camera to get as a beginner?
Okay so my dad really wants me to get the Nikon D5100 cause he loves photography & for my birthday I got 500 dollars cause I turned 15. But my mom says I should start off with something small like the canon sx500 and I honestly really like the sx500, but I don't know if I should get the Nikon D5100 cause it's nicer but at the same time, it's cost more & I'm a beginner so I don't know if I should start with that. People have been telling me to get the Nikon cause its the only time I could actually afford it, and it's really nice & big. But I like the small canon cause its small, I could upload pictures to the Internet easy, apparently it had "fish eye", and it's with a chargeable battery. I just really don't know what to get.

My Nikon D3100 won't turn on, why?
I just got my Nikon D3100 in the mail today from Sears and it is factory refurbished. I carefully opened the package and such and it said to charge the battery and should take about 1 hour 30 minutes to charge. I set it up to charge and it said in the manual that a blinking light means it's charging and a solid light means it's done charging. I was only charging it for probably between 25-45 minutes (I forgot to see when I first started charging it) so then I saw after the time that it was done charging but when I put the battery in the camera it wouldn't turn on. So I figured I'd charge it some more so I put the battery to charge and the blinking light was there but it kinda quickly turned to a solid light. So I tried putting it in the camera again but it still won't turn on. I put it to charge two more times.Am I not putting the battery in correctly? I know I'm inserting it in correctly but do I need to have it like click in their to hold it in? In my camera is slides in and only stays down when I shut the tab door thing.

Why my Nikon d3100 won't turn on
I recently purchased a Nikon d3100, and it was working perfect but something went wrong yesterday! It won't start. I tried charging the battery and everything but it just won't start! The battery is working perfectly fine, i tried it on my friend's Nikon d3100 and it worked! I tried putting her battery into my camera. It didn't turn on!

Nikon d5000 optimized video settings?
For all of you Filmers who are using a nikon slr d5000 as their camera of choice, what are the video settings that you use to get the most out of your HD video. I just bought this camera but I'm really unaware of how to use it. I don't want the stupid answer of its all personal preference and blah blah blah I just need to know what settings you use to make your video as crisp and HD as possible.

DSLR camera comparisons/suggestions?
I'm currently looking into buying a DSLR camera i've got plenty of accessories like a bag tripod, ect ect. But i haven't actually bought a camera yet simply cause i can't decide which one to buy. I'm going for either a nikon or a canon and i know there's alot of fanboyism out there so please before answer keep that to a minimum if possible. Now due to price restraints i'm going for more of a entry-mid level range and i'm kinda gotten myself to these two cameras but i just can't pick either one with 100% certainty. I'm stuck between the nikon d5100 and the canon t3i. If one of you experts out there could tell me what are the main differences or the main drawbacks to each camera. Also will be taking classes so user friendly is nice but i suppose not a deal breaker.
Added (1). Oh, also i've gone in and held both and neither one screamed at me as i must have "This" over "This".

Entry level photography Canon EOS Rebel T3 or Nikon D3100?
While I would like to take pictures with it, I'm primarily going to use the video function.

Hard decision. Which one should I make?
Okay I got 2 Deals for the Nikon D90. Both for $600
Dealer 1-
Nikon D90 with box and manuals plus 18-105mm lens, charger, 1 battery. Bought January 29, 2010. Shutter count around 2, 000. Also 1 year warranty. Only owner.
Dealer 2-
Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lens. 3 batteries, 8 GB Sd card, and a shutter release. No warranty or anything. Also around 2, 000 shutter counts too. Only owner as well. He said he bought it a little over 2 years ago. Don't know if it comes with box yet, he hasn't messaged me back.
So which one should I buy? FYI, These are used and not brand new. So my only concern is that, will it break on my after a month. I don't want that to happen and waste $600 honestly.

Is Cowboy Studio Triggers compatible with the Nikon SB700?
"Compatible with the Nikon SB700? Are the CowboyStudio NPT-04, 4 Channel Wireless Hot Shoe Flash Trigger Receivers compatible with the Nikon SB700 speedlight?"
Added (1). I have a Nikon d5000 camera body

I just purchased the new D5100. When I use the view finder, it takes the picture fine, but when alI switch to the lcd screen in seems to lag when I hit the shutter and take a picture. Why? And how do I fix it?
