Indoor lighting for photography?

I was looking for some lighting to take food photography pics indoor. I have a 500W halogen worklight but the light quality is yellow-orange. I tried to change the white balance but there isn't one for tungsten light (in case it matters, i have a nikon d3100). I was looking at the home depot website and there's a 42-watt use (200W) equivalent daylight cfl bulb that has a 6500k light appearance. Will this work, or will it be too blueish? I'm trying to get something cheap, i'm not going for high end or an investment. I just want to take nice food pics at night but i just don't have the lighting down yet (even during the day since i barely get any natural light inside my windows).

What settings should I set my camera to if i'm shooting steel wool in light?

My friend and I are going to be doing some photography with steel wool and we will be doing it in a underground tunnel that has lights, what setting should I set my Nikon D5100 to? I've got an idea of what to do without any light but not with some light on. Also, i'm pretty confused on how long to set the interval on the timelapse option, if I want to take a nighttime timelapse of about 5 hours?
Please and thank you!

Nikon AF-S 35mm DX Nikkor F/1.8G on a D7000?

What would be the actual focal length of the lens, since the camera is an AFS-C.
How do you calculate this difference?

Is there an auto focus adapter for Nikon lenses to Sony DSLR's?

I'm a Nikon D5100 owner with a 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX and 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR lenses and I'm highly considering upgrading from Nikon to Sony. I'm interested in the Sony A77 DSLR. Is there at all an adapter (price range doesn't matter) that will have auto focus working with Nikon lenses converted to Sony cameras? The only ones I can find are manual focus. I kinda doubt there's anything out there that would help me but I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm guessing I'm just gonna have to start all over with the lenses. It would just be nice and handy if I could somehow convert my Nikon lenses to the new Sony, in the best way possible.

How to go about starting film photography?

I have a Nikon D5100. I would say i take semi-good pictures. I have recently started watching Sawyer Hartman's film photography on youtube. I was really inspired by him to take up film photography. I have never taken anything other than pictures. I would really like to start doing this however i don't know where to start. I have the equitment to i just don't really know how to start using it with film. What my goal is, is to make videos and post them onto youtube. I kinda have an idea of what to film but i don't know what angles i should shoot at for different objects or which lenses i should use. Should i use the same angles i would if i were to take a picture? I have a 1.8 50mm and a 18-55mm lens. Does it matter which one i use? I think i prefer the 50mm in most situations. I live in New York but about an hour an a half away from the city and go there every so often. Any advice for beginner? If you want to see some of my pictures i recently started posting them on my Instagram @ambermeyerimages please leave feed back if you check them out.

Nikon 35mm f/1.8G or 50mm f/1.8G for my D7000?

I have a D7000, and I'm wondering what features each lense has and what kind of situation they are use in. I read that the 50mm has a view much closer to our eyes, but in some other reads it says that the magnification on a non full frame will be 1.5x, so I'm kind of iffy as to whether to believe that or not. Anyways, what I want is a lense that will be closer to my vision so I can easily figure out how far and what I angle I need to take the shot at.

Which camera (slr) should I purchase?

Need a new slr, need a Nikon, my budget is 600 - 800. Would like to stay lower though if possible. I think my price range narrows it down to the d5100 and d3200. What do you think?

Good cheap macro lens?

I liked the Nikkor Micro 40mm, as it is cheap and true macro. But I read since you have to be so close to the subject for 1:1 magnification, you get bad lighting and it is therefore bad for "serious macro photography". One of my friends online has superb pictures of bees and spiders that fill the frame with perfect quality, and he uses a Nikon 50mm v 1.8, with extension tubes. Is that a good choice? Is it better than the 40mm? What are other good options compatible with a D5100 body?
