Is the Nikon D3100 worth 400 dollars?

So I want to get into photography and researched dslr camera and found out the Nikon D3100 is the best budget for amateur. I just craiglist and a guy is selling it for $400.00 or OBO. He said he only open it once and powered it on. Everything is including and he will throw in a 4GB memory card. Is that worth it? Should I lower it?

Try to bargain it down some more if you can. I would offer $350-$375 and see what he says.

Craigslist is full of crooks… I'd only buy from a real dealer.
