Adobe raw converter add on doesn't work?

I downloaded the 6.2 add on for my adobe photoshop elements 8. I follwed all the instructions. But nef files from my nikon d3100 still can't open… It keeps telling me its the wrong type of file even with the new add on. Can someone please suggest how i can get around this and open them to edit…

You need 6.3 to open D3100 RAW photos.

Try converting the NEF RAW files to DNG format and then process in the 6.2 ACR in Elements 8. Click on the appropriate link (Windows or Mac) in the list in the right margin of this link to download Adobe's free DNG converter.
