What is the most common camera lens for Nikon cameras of 52mm?

I want to know what's the "standard" camera lens for the Nikon cameras of 52mm. Most of my friends has the 18-55mm lens on them but I'm confused, I thought that 18-55 only can be applied to 58mm. Can you please orient me about this matter. Any explanation will be helpful.

In the days of MF, Nikon tried to use 52mm filters on as many of their lenses as possible (even their super telephotos took them as drop-in). There WAS no standard, but Nikon - to their credit - did their best.

You seem to have the filter thread measurement confused with the focal length of the camera.

Many of the Nikon lenses have 52 mm filter threads. The Nikkor 18-55 mm lens uses 52 mm filters. Canon 18-55 mm lenses use 58 mm filters… A totally different company.

Here is a partial list of current Nikkor lenses that also use 52 mm filters

* AF-S Nikkor 24 mm f/2.8
* AF Nikkor 28 mm f/2.8D
* AF Nikkor 35 mm f/2D
* AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D
* Micro-NIKKOR 55mm f/2.8
* Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8
* AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II
* AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED

There are other manual focus legacy lenses that also 52 mm lens filters

The 18-55mm lens is 52mm. So is the 35mm 1.8, the 50mm 1.8, and the 55-200mm 1.8, and the 28-80mm.

58mm is more common on Canon lenses.

Some Nikkor lenses use larger 67mm or 77mm filter threads… Particularly the higher end telephotos and most wide angles
