Is there a site that explains all (or most common) Nikon lenses?
I know that websites say things like this lens is "perfect for travel and portrait pictures as well as general photography" or things like that, but I'm looking at lenses to buy and would like a site that has a breakdown of what lenses are good for what uses… Perhaps with some photo examples to go along with them.
Does anyone know of anything like this? Any help would be spectacular. I have a Nikon D3000 and only have the kit lens thus far.
Have you tried the Nikon site?
Jim has the right idea, but my friend didn't list the site. It's below. If you have the 18-55mm, I'd suggest the 55-200mm VR as a second lens.
Here are two sites you can use to get this kind of information.

http://imaging.nikon.com/.../index.htm
Remember, Nikon entry level dSLR cameras like your D3000 need AF-S lenses if you want them to auto-focus.
