Nikon SLR Cameras

Would you trust buying a DSLR camera on ebay?

I mean, from a seller like:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/...230f83045b

http://cgi.ebay.ca/...25624201f4

From Hong Kong or Taiwan… Or would you rather trust a USA or Canadian seller. Does it makes a difference in quality?

No, I would only buy such a valuable item from an online store that I trust. It cost me about 40 pounds more, but it was worth it being able to have the peace of mind

I wouldn't.

If I need a used camera or lens, I look on craigslist in a city near me.

If I need a new camera or lens, I either buy it locally from a dealer or order it from B&H Photo.

Don't listen to anyone that says 'oh no, not ebay, I only buy from places where i can trust'.

you can't trust anywhere completely these days. There's absolutley nothing wrong with ebay BUT make sure the seller has a 100% rating (and make sure this average comes from a long list of scores) and you can't really go wrong.

i definitley would not buy from any of the sellers you listed.why? Because they are not 100%. Good sellers will usually not have as cheap a price… But it will be cheaper than what you would buy at a store.

the only disadvantage of buying on ebay is that 1. You don't have a chance to try it out beforehand (of course you may not need to) 2. You will have difficulty sending it back if it needs repaired

anyway good luck

The camera menu may be in another language and the camera may to be reformatted (if you can download all the software at all) if you can't find & select your language in the menu.
Play it safe buy locally.
No from most individuals auctioning camera bodies or lenses.
Yes and maybe from individuals selling used tripods and maybe flash units.
Yes purchased a brand new $800 camera auctioned online with no problems from a dealer.
There some genuine business (store owners with physical buildings) camera dealers with 800 numbers.
