Nikon is super amazing! I know tons of people who have one, including my father who is a professional photographer and they all love them! Excellent cameras I definitely recommend a nikon!

I was a fan of Canon but today Panasonic makes the best bang-for-the-buck cameras. I would suggest the Lumix DMC-FP1 for about $106, depending on the color of the camera.

The zoom uses the Panasonic Mega Optical Image Stabilizer, Sonic Speed Auto Focusing and takes Hi-Def videos.

I have to say that canon is the best that i've used so far, but i've heard that panasonic because of their cheaper prices… Canon's photo quality is better, but panasonic is cheaper

sony cybershot's have very good quality, but i've heard from a few people that those cameras seem to break easily (i don't know i've just always heard that story with sony cybershots)

Go to amazon.com and read some of the reviews, i'm in the process of doing the same thing, getting a new Digital Camera, upgrading from my older one. But just remember you get what you pay for, look at your camera as in investment and don't always think just b/c its Cheap i'm going to get it. Even if you have to spend a little bit more money for a better quality camera, you'll know it won't be one that will be out of date in a couple of years. Kodak has some nice ones on sale right now, also check out the Best Buy and look at them in person first then come home and price them on the internet for the best price. Nikon and Canon are both good, I've had my Kodak for about 5 yrs and never a prob.w/ it at all. Just take good care of it, get extra rechargeable batteries, a case for it and a spare charger if you can.
