Preventive coatings, tips for preventing scratches on glasses?
Mine are prescription near sighted glasses that are extra then normal they are from walmart vision center.
Well, you bought them from Walmart to start with, come on man, don't expect top quality from Walmart unless you paid extra for the Nikon lenses.
Always rinse before wiping the lenses. Never wipe the lenses dry.
Start with a top quality lens and it will last a lot longer also. Many places give a 2 year warranty on the anti reflection & anti scratch coating. I believe they only give one year.
What you can also do to prevent scratches on your dry lenses:-- dip a cotton bud in tap water. Wet all the 4 sides of the lenses with the cotton bud. Use a spectacle cloth (fine cloth) to wipe the lenses dry. Next: dry your wet spectacle cloth. This should help.
