Do I need to wear my glasses when taking pictures?

I just purchased a Nikon D3100 and I can't wait to use it! Problem is, I'm nearsighted (I can't see far away). I'm supposed to wear my glasses all the time, but I hardly ever do. I find them to bit a bit of a hassle.

My question is: woudn't my pictures come out blurry if I take the pictures without glasses? I was thinking about this because, when I look into the view finder and see a clear image, what may be clear to me wouldn't be clear to someone who doesn't wear glasses… Right? When I'm focusing the image through the camera (and say I'm not wearing my glasses) the image would look different than to someone with "normal vision"

Sorry if I'm making it sound confusing. I just don't want all my pictures to come out blurry due to the fact that I hate wearing my glasses. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Contacts will do just fine

I have worn glasses all the time since I was 13. You not wearing them like you're supposed to is only hurting your eyes. If you ever get in an accident, and not wearing them, you could be cited for DWI. Driving While Impaired. Now if you wear contacts, that's fine.

Look at pictures of everyone else wearing glasses. They look great, right? Yours will look fine.

I have a low prescription for seeing far away. I don't wear my glasses while shoot just because it seems awkward for me, and I never have a problem with the outcome of my photos with manual focus.
If you have a higher prescription, I would wear glasses or contacts to take photos. Manual focusing is nearly impossible (even with a low prescription!) without glasses.

Try to use contact lenses instead of your eye glasses, also use your view finder as a guide b/c even if you don't wear glasses the view finder will not show the blur (it's happens to me before). You might want to gently push on the shutter release button to attempt auto focus by your camera, then take the picture. Also you might want to try the Hope this helps Diopter adjustment control.

The lens taking the picture does not care about the acuity of your eyes or whether they are corrected. Seeing the viewfinder clearly can help you in composing the shot. The viewfinder has a diopter adjustment that can allow you to see it clearly without your glasses. Adjusting that does not affect how the camera lens has focused the image.

Whether you do or don't wear glasses when shooting with your D3100 is a moot point. The D3100 is an autofocus DSLR and will autofocus by itself.

You can use the built-in diopter correction dial on the side of the viewfinder, if that would be helpful.

By the way, I'm supposed to wear glasses because of nearsightedness - - - and I do. I hope you aren't driving like that!

If you don't like the way you look wearing your glasses, get contacts or find glasses that flatter you.

"… I need to wear my glasses when taking pictures?"

Yeah? Me too. You're right, you will get out of focus images if you do not wear your glasses.

When I'm going to be taking pictures I put in my contacts instead of trying to use my speckles. If you are nearsighted (as am I) you might consider wearing contacts full time. It is like--wow… I didn't know there was a Mountain outside my front door! Contacts are (almost) like having real eyes. I recommend them HIGHLY.
