Camera help! Scratches?

So i got the nikon coolplix s9200 and its a beautiful camera but it seems like the screen is very delicate because it has so many scratches and i basically just purchashed and and it also has this one scratch that you can really seen on the screen. What should i do? And if i put a screen protector will that scratch you can see on it be invisible like you can't see it?

Added (1). And how about if i used a phone protector like a ishields that would fit my camera screen would that work?

Using a screen protector might hide a scratch on the LCD screen. My favorite brand of protector is GGS as they are made of optical glass. They do make custom screens for some cameras, or if you can't find one for yours, you can get a generic one.

I did not see one for your specific camera, so you will likely need one of the generic ones. I have bought a lot of these over the last couple of years.

Note that the size of the screen protectors is measured on the diagonal. Here are the exact dimensions for the generic protectors:

3.0" diagonal: 2 9/16" W x 1 15/16"
2.8" diagonal: 2 9/16" W x 1 43/64"
2.7" diagonal: 2 9/16" W x 1 13/16"

Try applying a screen protector such as GGS or Zagg Invishield to help blend the scratch in.

The scratches are there already. They will show up under the screen protector. First time personal electronics owner? Next time be extra careful with your gadgets. I know some people don't leave the store without installing screen protectors to their gadgets first.
