Are DSLR Camera Lenses Universal?

I recently purchased a NikonD3200 DSLR and I wanted to get a low-aperture lens (e.g. F/1.4) and I saw that Canon have some pretty good lenses with low apertures. So I was wondering whether a lens such as a Canon one would work on my Nikon or are lenses made only for the cameras of the same brand?

Nikon d5300 DSLR issue?

I can only take one photo with my d5300 DSLR camera. Every time I try to take a second photo it won't work, so I have to turn it off and on again to take another photo. Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

Will old 35mm lenses fit new DSLR cameras?

I'm sure this is a question that has been asked many many times, but I didn't see my specific camera/lenses and wanted to get some opinions.

I have an old 35 mm Minolta Maxxum 5000i with 2 lenses

Sigma DL zoom 35-80mm

Sigma 70-300mm

I'm still a camera novice but want to get a decent entry-level camera (Nikon?). I would like to know if these lenses would be compatible/be able to use them with a DSLR camera. Are there certain brands that are compatible and others that aren't? What options do I have if they aren't?

I understand that ideally I would like to get new lenses, but since I have these already, I would like to know their compatibility.

Also, if you have any recommendations for an entry level $500 - 600 camera, please let me know. My brain hurts from looking at all the options. If there's been a recent upgrade, and the older model is still a great option and maybe even a little cheaper, that would be great.

Thanks for any suggestions. Any help is appreciated.

Canon rebel t3 or t3i for a beginner?

I want to buy a DSLR camera but I don't know which one to get. I heard that Canon is better than Nikon so I narrowed it down to either the rebel t3 or the t3i. I'm mostly going to be taking pictures, not videos. Does one camera have better picture quality or are they pretty much the same? Is the t3i worth the extra money?

Where can I rent a camera?

I wanted either a Canon or Nikon DSL camera.

But I can't pay for it in full at the moment.

So I was wondering where i would be able to pay for one monthly.

I know about Rent-A-Center and Aaron's, but they don't really even have any cameras.

So I was wondering if a store or electronic store had rental deals or something like that.

Thanks

Added (1). Oh by the way, I live in Cleveland, Ohio. So anywhere near that area would be great also!

MacBook or Nikon/Cannon?

I'm in a fix. Am unable to decide what should I put my hands on now - a Macbook air or a nice DSLR! I already have a windows but I thought of buying a macbook, considering the fact that I may start building ios apps some time soon. On the other hand, I'm thinking of developing a hobby like photography. Don't really know anything about photography, except the usual photos that I click with my iPhone!

Which cameras better, Nikon or Canon?

I'm a graphic designer and have been taking pretty good pictures on my Olympic camera but I want something a little more advanced.
I hear nothing but good things about Nikon and Canon.
I would like to know which is the best camera to use to take good photography photos and for videos to upload onto YouTube? Which ones would you suggest?

What is the nikon version of this lense?

I want to invest in an amazing lense for my camera. I have a Nikon and I was doing some research and the canon EF 24-105mm 1:4 L for the Canon DSLR cameras is an amazing lense. So I was wondering if there was a lense for the Nikon DSLR cameras that is equivalent or oven better than the canon lenses? Does anyone know? Or if you don't, do you recommend any?
