Nikon Cool Pix camera broken?

English Miss

Hi, I recently bought a Nikon Cool Pix digital camera, I only had it a few hours and I dropped it, now it won't work properly. I know I should have been more careful but these things happen and I thought it would be a bit more robust to be honest. Does anyone know of a way to maybe reset it or something like that? Thanks.

Added (1). Just to let you know, anyone trying to just make points out of my question will be reported straight away. For God's sake are points really that important?!

To be honest, your camera had a severe trauma.
Bring it to service center because internal component are too small for you to repair or replace.

Dropping a camera is the death-knell of inexpensive compact cameras. People post about dropping there camera on YA all the time. The standard answer is it is not cost effective to repair, and the camera needs replacing.

Usually either the lens or LCD screen becomes damaged when the camera is dropped, which all but means the camera is ruined. Camera manufacturers generally consider dropping a camera abuse, and is not covered under warranty.

You are probably out of luck, as there's no reset to fix broken.

Cameras are fairly complicated electro-optical systems, and coupled with cut-throat competition between the camera makers, a $200 camera is not going to survive abuse.

But there are a few compact cameras that are fairly immune to dropping; everything from ruggedized/waterproof cameras to Fisher Price Kid Proof cameras. These cameras are designed for rough use; and can be dropped, kicked, and abused.
