As I understand your question you want to be able to transfer the photo's on your memory card to your computer for storage on the hard drive or to work with them or to order prints via computer. If I'm right then if you persist in wanting to use the cord connected from the camera to the computer, you might as well reserve yourself a bed in the nearest mental ward in your community. These cords cause nothing but grief! The best way around this situation is to get a simple "SD" memory card to USB adapter or more simply put you need a "memory card reader". A memory card reader plugs into a available USB port on your computer and a white box appears on your desktop when you insert your memory card. Your photo's are in that white icon box. Simple as that! By the way these Memory Card Readers sell for only about $6.00, a lot cheaper than a new cord from manufacturers.
