Nikon 18-105mm or the 18-140mm? What is the better lens?

What lens is better sharper lens? I do not car for the extra reach so much as i have a 55-300mm

Nikon 18-105 is better. Been using it with d90 as a kit lens before. You already have a 55-300 for telephoto I didn't see any need for the 18-140mm.

The 18-140 is noticeably sharper than the 18-105. I've never much liked the 18-105. The 18-140 has lots of distortion, but not sure if it's worse than the 18-105. It's nice having the extra reach of the 140mm end.
