Lens for 35mm Nikon N65?
I only have experience with dSLRs, but never with film SLRs. I found an incredibly cheat Nikon N65 online, and I'm trying to find the best, but cheapest lens for it. I primarily use my dSLR, so I'm not looking for something super high quality. I'm really just looking to experiment and learn. What is the cheapest lens I could use for this camera? What's the lens I could use that would give me the most bang for my buck?
Get a 50mm f/1.8 AF or a 28-75mm (or something to that effect) AF. You can find cheap Nikkor versions but if you want cheaper, try Tamron. Secondhand will do fine, just test thoroughly before paying. Don't worry, what you know with your dSLR applies the same way with film SLR's. You just have to wait after developing and printing to see the results.
I suggest you buy this. It's an upgraded version of the NIKKOR 50 mm f/1.8D. It has a reversible hood that shades the lens. And it uses 58 mm filter rather than a 52 mm filter like the one used in the f/1.8D.
Considering that the 50mm f/1.8G has better optical performance (sharper, better bokeh, improvement on color and contrast), has an included hood, lens pouch, plus the flexibility of being able to use this lens with all of Nikon's dSLR, I strongly recommend anyone looking for a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens to choose this Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G over the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D.
