I have AF lens for a Nikon N65 camera. I would like to go dig -?

What would be a good camera to go with that costs less than 1, 000. I have been looking at nikon D90 and D3100

I'd say the D7000, it just replaced the D90. A little more than you are looking to pay. If you need to keep it under $1000, then go with the D90.

Depends on which lens. If it's just the 28-80 don't let that dictate your choice. If you got anything better go for a d90, most likely your lenses will not autofocus on a d3100

Only Nikon AF-S lenses will auto focus on the D40, D60, D3000, D3100 and D5000. Nikon AF lenses will auto focus on the D90 and above.

You're making a mistake if you're trying to buy a camera to fit a lens. It should be the other way around. The best results are always achieved when matching the two. That is buying only Nikon lenses designed for your camera.
