Kodak or Nikon Camera?
I want a new camera, a fancy one but i can't afford a canon.
I want a camera like this kind: http://www.nikonusa.com/...index.page
So is a Kodak or a Nikon better? Or even a different brand. I want it to take good focused videos and good quality pictures. Any advice?
Canon makes camera in the same price range as the Nikon DSLR's
Kodak does not make DSLR's, and frankly… Well, to put it bluntly, they suck.
Stick with Nikon and Canon

as you can see, they have pretty much the same price range as Nikon
Where have you been? Kodak is probably the worst brand out there. Canon and Nikon are the world leaders in this technology. Do some reading about the three brands and you'll soon learn what I'm talking about.
Advice, yes. You want quality, buy quality but it isn't cheap. I always recommend the Canon Rebel line because I own them and know what they're like - $600 and up for quality.
Besides what the above posters have said, you need to remember two things:
1) Photography is roughly 70% photographer skill/experience, 20% lens quality, and 10% camera body
2) A good camera is only as good as the person using it.
The best camera is the one that feels good in your hands AND that you can operate almost instinctively. I bought a Canon for its ergonomics and menu system, and a fellow photog bought a Nikon for the same reason. You need to visit an actual camera shop (not bestbuy/walmart) and try the different brands/models out to see which feels the best to YOU.
To Jim: besides Krapdak… Let's not forget GE Vivitar, and Sanyo (especially since Panasonic bought them) to round out the bottom of the barrel.
Personally I would go for Nikon camera as their repution, albeit a newer one than Kodak, is better for overall build quality and innovation.
