Nikon, Canon, Sony are major Japanese brands for cameras. But few of them are actually made in Japan today. They're made in Thailand, China, Indonesia, and even Mexico!

Canon, Sony, Nikon are Japanese. The majority of their products are made in other countries where it's cheaper to make them. However, some of their top optics, point and shoots, and dSLRs are still made in Japan. My Sony A700 is made in Japan.
