When it comes to dSLR cameras, Nikon and Canon both make the cameras that the pros use.

What it comes down to is which you like the best. To determine that, you will have to visit a proper camera shop and hold selected cameras in your hands

It depends what your looking for, If you like taking movies rather than pictures go Canon, if you Like photography go Nikon.

I would recommend a Nikon d7000 or d5100 and above.

Just buy a Benq or a pink, 'Hello Kitty.'

Pentax do the same job and have been making SLRs for longer.

Sony do better video.

Olympus are smaller and lighter.

Fujifilm do better bridge cameras.

Canon? Nikon? Pentax? Sony?

All make superb products. Choose the one you like best that has the features and price that suit you.

Both are excellent brands, in the top three along with Sony.

I have a canon and tried nikon in the store and with friends.
I honestly liked canon more.
The best way is to go to the store and just hold both of them and try them, which one feels better in your hands and you feel that it is comfortable for you is the one that you should buy
