How to Get My SD Card Out Of My Nikon Camera And Into My Computer?

I wanted to know if there's a way i can get my sd card out from my camera and into my laptop to save pictures on my computer. Could this damage my laptop or computer?

Yes. Actually, the only recommended method of transferring files from the camera to the computer is with the use of a USB card reader. The card reader is used to connect the memory card directly to the computer's empty USB slot.

Should your computer reader not work correctly, mine doesn't, a usb card reader will solve that problem. Readers aren't expensive and are available where ever cameras are sold.

You certainly can if your laptop has its own card reader if not, you can buy them for less than $10.
I do prefer taking out my sd card from the camera using a card reader rather than plugging my camera into the computer directly with a usb cable. This avoid having too much electricity coming from my computer going to my camera. I could care less if my sd card gets damage when that happens.
