How to insert memory card into computer?

So my dad has a nikon D200 camera, its pretty professional. Anyways, I took the memory card out and its really big. Not the small ones from those regular cameras. It is a PNY OPTIMA Pro Udma CompactFlash 266x 8GB. So the card is so big, that I can't find a hole in my laptop that is big enough to put the memory card into. I know that for regular cameras its just a small memory card that you insert right into the computer and then you can transfer your pictures. This memory card is huge, how do i connect it to my computer to get the pictures.

You probably don't have the right port on your laptop so you should see if the camera has a USB cable and just use your USB port to import the pictures. It is really simple all you do is insert the USB into the port, wait for a message to come up asking what you want to do with it and there should be a link saying import pictures do that and your good to go

CompactFlash? You don't see those often.

You will have to get an external card reader that supports the CompactFlash card.

Most computers that have builtin memory card readers only read SD and sometimes microSD cards. You don't see CompactFlash often, so many computers don't have them buildin.

"Don't see them that often"?

I beg to differ. As a professional photographer shooting with Nikon D200 and D300 cameras, I see nothing but CF memory cards used by every pro on the sidelines of NBA, WNBA, NCAA, MLB, MiLB, UFL, and NFL games. You might find an SD card somewhere, but it's rare.

Laptops and desktop computers have SD slots because they are small and easy to fit. A true multimedia computer comes with a variety of media cards slots. Your best solution is a relatively inexpensive CF memory card reader that will plug in to your computer (or any other) via the USB port. It won't drain your camera battery while you're copying your digital files, and it's much faster than the supplied USB cable between the camera and computer.

You can go to your nearest Target, Walmart, drugstore, or camera shop and find one for a few dollars. While you're at it, I'd suggest getting a memory card reader that takes a variety of cards. That way, you're good-to-go, no matter what type of card you or your friends use now or in the future.
I've got a few that accept CF, SD, MS, XD, and others.

Here's a couple of examples.
