What to Choose First: Nikon D700 Body or Nikon Af-s 70-200mm F/2.8g Ed Vr II?

I want to upgrade to full frame and yesterday I got two opportunities at the same time: either trade my Nikon D300s body (with a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5 VRII and a Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8 Fisheye) PLUS $200 dollars for a Mint condition a Nikon D700 body… OR trade the three items for a Nikkor Af-s 70-200mm F/2.8g Ed Vr II missing its tripod mount? I have to monday till I decide and I'm finding it real hard. I appreciate your opinion.
Added (1). Well, I know that I'll end up having both, so I can wait a month or two while I'm getting either a new body or new lenses. I could either get the 70-200mm and then get a used d700 for the needed full frame or I could get the d700 body in great condition and then buy lenses (not the 70-200mm though but more like a 17-55 mm F/2.8; 135mm f/2 DC, 12-24mm, etc. I could even go for old lenses like the ones I found here:

I do know that the resale value of the 70-200mm will last for a long time compared to the D700 body. Tough choice.

What lenses do you have besides the 18-200 and the fisheye? If those are your only lenses then neither trade is good in my opinion. Get the D700 and you have no decent glass to put on it. Get the 70-200 and you have no camera.
The D300s is still a great camera and if you're not a pro it's more than enough. You should better save some more money and get better glass before thinking about upgrading your body. Lenses are always far more important than the camera and believe me I've seen amazing pictures coming out of a D300s.
I'd say save some money and invest in a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and maybe a Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 and sell your 18-200.
So if I had the choice I wouldn't trade anything, but if I really had to I would go with the 70-200 since a 2.8 pro lens like that is gonna retain it's value for much longer than the D700, especially now since the D800 just came out. (Get a tripod mount for it, though).
EDIT: Well if you're getting both for sure then it doesn't matter that much which one comes first, does it?
I would still get the lens first and then a used D700. Then get at least the 17-55mm f/2.8, which is a great piece of glass, so that you're not stuck with a telephoto lens only.
The reason is that you can always sell the 70-200 for at least maybe 2 grand if you do regret your choice (which I don't think you will).
- Differences between a Nikon d700 and a hong kong version d700?
- Will a Nikon full frame body (D700) function correctly with a manual nikkor lens?
- Will a vintage 55mm f1.2 nikkor lens work on a Nikon D700 body?
- Tamron 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 XR on a Nikon D700?
- Should i just get canon body and an adapter for nikon lenses? Or just choose nikon?
