What ISO should I use for startrails photo? - 1

First off, I know about the startrails software to stack mult. Exposures, and this time I want to try to do it in one exposure.

Here's what I will be using:
-nikon d200
-18-55mm
-shutter speed: ~65 mins

My question is. What ISO should I use for this long of an exposure? When I use startrails software I shoot at ISO 6400, at 30secs each, but I think that might Be tops sensitive for 60 mins. I don't want to screw up this thing that will take this long to do, So could someone help?

Oh yeah, and I will be shooting after dark, so 11:00 and later.

I need a cheap 70-200mm lens?

I'm buying a canon 40D or Nikon D300 and once I have got them I want to get a 70-200mm.
Which make is cheaper?
Will be a big deciding factor, which has the cheapest lenses.

How to use the LCD screen to take photos with my Nikon D300?

I'm going to use a tripod or monopod with a remote shutter release at an event tonight. I think it would be easier if I could use the screen rather than the viewfinder. But I don't seem to be smart enough to figure out how to do that. Can anyone help?

Added (1). OK. I have the camera in Live View mode, but it's not displaying anything on the LCD and isn't autofocusing.

Having trouble getting action shots with my camera?

I have a Nikon d200 with an 18-55mm lens. I bought it to take photos at my job at birthday parties for little kids. Only problem is, my very first party (it was only for practice and to get some photos on the website) I don't have any usable photos from when they were doing a lot of moving around for dancing and games (which is almost the entire party). Now, the lighting was really bad and dark but I can't just not take photos because it is too dark if someone pays for it. How can I capture the movement better? I had my camera on both manual and shutter priority but with both because it was so dark, I couldn't raise my shutter speed enough and still get a well lit, blur-free photo. Thank you for any suggestions!

Added (1). I DO KNOW what I'm doing. I'm not completely clueless about photography. This is a new camera I've never used before and I don't have the money to go out and buy a bunch more equipment for it. I need to work with what I have.

Nikon's MC-36 or ML-3?

I'm interested in getting either Nikon's MC-36 or ML-3 for a Nikon D300s and was wonder if I could get some advice from someone who has used one or both. I'd just like to know how and "if" they work effectively. (Primary use: HDR Photography with Nikon D300s)

Added (1). Fever F: Just so you know I wouldn't be asking a question like this if I hadn't already read the brochure. I'm looking for someone with one to let me know if their reliable or not specially since wireless units tend to have trouble.

Are Canon cameras far better than Nikon's?

I know a friend who has a canon eos 550 and it just produces simply beautiful crisp colors, but on the other hand I have a nikon D3000 it doesn't give me what I'm looking for; the colors are so… (I'm trying to search for the right word) anyway the d3000 does not offer me those refreshing colors like canon, eventhough my friend (who is a canon user) doesn't use those expensive f2.8 lenses, so I went to another friend who uses d300 and he seems to have the same problem like I do but when I go on flickr it is a different story! Please tell me what is goin' on because right now I'm thinking to switch to canon

Why the 'number of photos left' is lower than actually how much can fit on card?

I have a Nikon D200, and i'm using an 8GB CF card, and it says "886" for the photos left. But I recently did a shoot, and I got well over 1, 200 photos on the card, and it still said "308" left.

Does anyone know why this is?
Is there anything I can do so I can get a more accurate number of photos left I actually have?

Oh yeah, and I shoot in Large JPG almost all the time.
