Last time i let someone handle my camera lol long story short they dropped my d2h on hardwood floor and when i looked inside it the mirror i believe is what it is, is broke. Its like a tiny mirror below the main mirror the goes up and down your you take the photo. Half of the mirror is not hooked on and half is i believe any tips of self fixing?

Unless you have training in handling Nikon equipment, you will cause more damage instead of help to fix the problem

call up Nikon, ask them to fix it. It will probably cost $100+ to fix and replace.

Now you know not to let anyone handle your camera

Another one good for a giggle. Someone who doesn't know anything about the anatomy of a camera lending it to someone who's as stupid and careless as to drop it.

Sure, get the repair manual for the camera and order the spares. Then you can fix it yourself. Alternatively get it to Nikon, should be a simple job, $150-$250

You have two choices: 1) Buy a new camera. 2) Pay to have an 8 year old camera repaired.

Camera repair is a job for a trained camera repair technician. Its not a DIY project like changing the oil in your car.

Considering the incredible advances in DSLR technology in the last 8 years in my opinion option 1 makes the most sense. Any lenses you have for your D2h can be used on the current Nikon DSLR cameras. The Nikon D7000 will allow use of auto focus if all your lenses are Nikon AF because it has a focusing motor in the camera body. The Nikon D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100 all require use of Nikon AF-S lenses if you want auto focus. The Nikon D7000 body is $1, 099.05 at B&H after a $100.00 Instant Savings from B&H. Offer ends 11-19-2011.

I've never let anyone handle my camera without first putting the neck strap around their neck.
