Nikon D200.to buy or not to buy?
I have been offered a D200 with a lens for £400. I need a camera that will give me proffessional results. I'm already conversant with the basics. Should i buy?
Depends a bit on the lens and the number of shutter actuations. A d200 features a rather primitive AF system and it's not a camera for high iso work.
I know that some D200 had banding issues that was finally admitted by Nikon, they never sorted it out, they just brought out the D300. One of our club members changed over to the Canon system, at some considerable expense for just this reason.
I think you should buy this one camera
Nikon D3000 Digital SLR Camera (18-55 mm VR Lens Kit)
10.2M Nikon DX format CCD sensor
3 inch hi-res LCD monitor
New Guide Mode for easy operation and enhanced picture taking skills
11-point autofocus system for tack sharp results
Active D-lighting for shooting in high contrast conditions
