How to set a nikon d200 to turn off automatically if not being used?
I keep forgetting to turn the power off and it stays on but drains the batteries… On my d5000 it automatically turns off after 5 mins of inactivity.
Bond with your manual. There should be a setting somewhere for it.
It doesn't, and you shouldn't be losing battery power in the process. Thew D200, like many DSLR's, just goes into a "sleep" mode after a certain amount of time. In that sleep mode, it should last for weeks. If yours isn't, you need a new battery, or something else is going on that shouldn't be.
Take out the battery or actually turn the camera off… DUH!
