Will Nikon AF-S DX 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR work on D3000?

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea if 55-300mm Nikon lens are compatible with a Nikon D3000. I mean I read that quite some lens don't perfectly work on D3000, AF and VR I mean. Is there any way to know that, perhaps I should just contact Nikon right?

All Nikon AF-S and AF-I lenses (not to be confused with A-i) will work perfectly on a D3000. Also, third party lenses with an internal autofocus motor will work (assuming a Nikon mount).
