Will a nikkor 70-300mm vr work on a nikon d3000?

I have a nikon d3000 and I'm looking for a zoom lens. I'm not for sure what one to buy, I'm looking at the AF-S VR zoom-nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6g IF-ED, will that work? If not, what would you recommend?

The Nikon 70-300mm AF-S VR will work perfectly. For your D3000, you need a lens that has the built-in autofocus motor, and you'll find that in every Nikon AF-S lens.

Here's a website (updated regularly) with all the lenses, Nikon and 3rd party, that autofocus with Nikon's entry-level DSLR cameras like yours.

Your D3000 doesn't have a body, but the 70-300mm will work with your D3000, because it has AF-S.
