Wide Angle Lens Converter for Nikon D5000?
Anybody know of a good (but not bank breaking ) Wide Angle Lens converter? I'm new to photography and caught the bug. I noticed on my last photo session (NYC) that I just could not get all I wanted and feel I was lacking. A new lens is not in the budget.
I seen converters that screw on but not sure which. I have a Nikon D5000 with a external flash, a 70-300 and a standard 35mm lens.
any assistance would be appreciated
I'm sorry to say but there's no such thing as a wide angle converter for a DSLR. Only for point and shoots because you can't change the lens on them, and even those aren't cheap (about $150). I don't exactly know what your budget is or how wide you want but there's a Nikon 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 VR for $199 ($119 without VR).It is a kit lens but still has very nice image quality.
You can get the kit lens that normally comes with the D500 refurbished for $160:

You can probably buy the refurbished ones for a bit less at either Adorama or B&H.
$150 for that lens is going to be much superior than any kind of wide angle adapter you may find, and probably not a whole lot more expensive.
18mm will give you a decent wide angle on your camera.
