What sort of wide-angle or fixed lenses are there for the Nikon D5000?

It's so hard to find a straight forward sort of explanation as to what lens is going to work best with my camera. I have the AF-S KIKKOR 18-55mm as well as the 55-200mm. So what's next? I would really like a wide-angle lens and a fixed (or prime). But no idea what is what and all that.

PRime on a d5000, the 35mm f1.8 comes to mind. Wide angle. Sigma's 10-20 HSM deserves a look.
