What is the difference between the Nikon D3000 and the Nikon D3100?
Is there a MAJOR difference? Or are they both pretty much the same.
Out of the two, which one would you recommend?
Yes there's. The D3100 is a much better camera.
Look at the sensor performance differences, especially when shooting under low light conditions (like indoors or when shooting sports at night).

The Nikon D3100 also has a video feature that includes both HD and Full HD options
Think the D3000 is an iPad and the D3100 is an iPad2 Wichita one would you buy the old or new one.
D3100 has HD video, live view, 4 more megapixels, higher ISO capability, better noose performance, and is the successor to the D3000.
I recommend the D3100 because it is a better camera.
Hope this helps
James
No, there aren't any major differences in image quality between most of the DSLRs out.
D3100 has less noise, higher max ISO, video. I'd get it because its the best bang for your buck out now!
