Why doesn't my computer recognize my transfered photos from my Nikon d5000? - 1

They are RAW not JPG, and I can only view them with that stupid Nikon program "ViewNX" that my camera came with. I want to be able to modify my photos and also view them with "Windows Picture Viewer" but it won't let me. Why? Should I only take JPG photots? Was that the problem?

How to get a blue sky in infrared photography?

I'm using a Nikon D40 with an R72 lens. I can get decent exposures, but they are all tinted red or white. Do I set it to BW or leave it as color? I have Photoshop, but I don't know the actions to get a blue sky with white leaves on trees.

Why does my sb600 stop working wirelessly after a few shots with my Nikon d40?

The connection works well for a while and all of a sudden my flash will stop responding. Are there settings I need to adjust? I know it can't be the batteries because they are fully charged.

What factors determine the prices for DSLRs?

Okay, so i'm new to DSLRs and i'm also planning to purchase a DSLR. However, after doing some research, i realized some cameras are more expensive than the others even though they don't offer as much pixels. For example, Nikon D7000 is more expensive than Canon Rebel T2i (body only) but T2i has a better senor by a bit however, the price difference between the two DSLRs is significant. Why is that? Is it because of the shutter speed, ISOs, and FPS?

Also, as i mentioned early, i'm planning to buy a DSLR and i'm looking into the Canon Rebel T2i. Is that a good camera? I know the Canon T3i is coming out very very soon but it's an extra $200 in Canada and they offer pretty much the same thing so that's why i want to go for the T2i.

I do plan on taking a lot of photos with my DSLR, and also doing some videos with it so i'm looking into a DSLR that offers 1080p video recording. So… Is there a better alternative? (Price has to be around the same as the T2i.)

It would be great if you people can help me clear up those questions…

Camera search continues?

I'm trying to narrow the search. I'm just starting out and with some help from a previous question a little research of my own, i know a few cameras i def don't want. That still leaves me about 75% sure i'm looking at something good for a learning tool. As a learning tool i have started my hunt on ebay i have a list of what i'm looking at, at the moment. Sorry it isn't short but here we go…

*Sony A300
*Canon EOS Rebel XS
*Canon EOS Rebel T1i
*Canon EOS Rebel T2i
*Nikon D40
*Nikon D50
*Nikon D70
*Nikon D80

now like i said i don't know much and these are just what i have ebayed so i'm open to suggestion. But if you could give me a little more than just the name of a model i would greatly appreciate it!
