How to get a blue sky in infrared photography?
I'm using a Nikon D40 with an R72 lens. I can get decent exposures, but they are all tinted red or white. Do I set it to BW or leave it as color? I have Photoshop, but I don't know the actions to get a blue sky with white leaves on trees.
Because you are using IR, you can't get a blue sky…
go to mono if you don't like the colour of the sky…
With Color IR photography, the sky is naturally going to appear red.
If you want the sky to appear more blue, you can swap the red and blue channels in Photoshop.
Just open the Channel mixer tool, and set the Red channel to be made of 0% red and 100% blue, and then do the opposite for the blue channel.
I don't if you can get blue sky in infrared photography, unless it has absolutely no heat signature, so a cold morning or evening would probably work.
